Just another pretty Facebook

I finally gave in. I joined Facebook.

Why did I think I needed another social network when I already belonged to Faithwriters, Shoutlife, FWA, ACFW, Godlinked, Writer Interrupted, Blogging. . . I 'm crazy to do it, I thought, but a friend said to give it a try.

What I found surprised me. A Clearinghouse of all my networks combined! Imagine the rings of the Olympics. Each circle is a group of friends and they all connect.

So I'm hooked. I don't have to visit all the boards--all my college friends, relatives, writer friends and hometown friends are together on one page.

Am I the last person to give in? Are you all there already? Find me!

Family and friends have been trying to get me to join Facebook too, but like you, I've been hesitating as I don't know when I'd find time to keep up with that and blog, etc. Okay. I'll give it a shot and let you know what happens!

I had an account and canceled it, viruses and worms are too often detected and infiltrate through their site.

People then say, just don't use the apps so maybe I'll use it again. It looks like twitter is going to interface and twitter is my number one way of communication now.

I will look for you right now!

Woohoo! I just sent you a "friend request" on FB.

I've thoroughly my FB experience. I remain in touch with extended family; people I'd rarely visit with on a regular basis. It's been a blast!

Was it me? I know I tried to get you on a while ago. I knew you would love it because it doesn't take much time to keep up with friends, it just takes up time to play. ; ) It's so much fun to stay connected! Have a good day my FB friend.

I'm there but I don't spend much time there. Blogger and twitter are my addictions.

Terri, I just joined Facebook a month ago. I didn't like it at first, but there are a lot of family and friends on there that weren't on all the other networks and I'm like you--hooked.

Plus, I've discovered a way to ping all my Blogger posts to Facebook. So I love that feature!

Oh, and my editor is on there. I can get general updates on what's going on faster by dropping by her Facebook page.

Yep! I love it, too. :)

I'll have to look you up. I joined to connect with my grown kids and discovered they have a family tree where you can upload genealogy and photos! Sorry to hear they have viruses and worms but I do have a mac computer...

I haven't joined yet, but wonder if it's one of those "musts" every writer will need to have at some point in an effort to market.

I am there. I will reach out and find you. I talk with old friends and classmates there as well as with a few family members. Welcome to Facebook.

Ha ha! I have a Facebook page, but I rarely use it. I know everyone is talking about and using Facebook, but I spend so much time on blogs and emails I don't spend enough time in "old-fashioned" communication like phoning a friend, chatting over coffee at Starbucks or visiting over lunch.

I wish you well as your new cyber journey! I'll look for you.

A word of caution, what ever gets placed on FaceBook becomes their property to do with as they please, even your pictures.

This happend back in February, they gave a notice to this effect.

I happend to have deleted my acct January 29th and am just praying that I got off quick enough.

With lots of love, Terri, just a word of caution.

No, boo, you're not the last. I'm hangin' tough & haven't jumped into FaceBook or Twitter yet.

I finally capitulated a few months ago and really enjoy it, though I could do without a lot of the dumb "take this quiz!" features and "send your friend this!" stuff.

I've reconnected with lots of friends from high school and college, though, and that has been great fun.

How cute to know you are all over the internet like I am. I'm still not good at FB. I use Twitter to update my status.

You're going to be busy today. I just signed up with FB last week and still finding my way around. I've been on twitter a little longer but haven't given it much time yet. I guess this old dog needs to learn a few new tricks.

Welcome to the world of stalking! Ha. I've been there for a while. I jumped from myspace to facebook -- now I spend more time on my blogspot. I'll find you.

Blessings!
