Blogger Meets Blogger

Last night, Denny's was the scene of a fabulous meeting of writers I had never met before in person--only through blogging.

Being a little cautious about meeting cyberspace people, I had my husband walk in with me to see if anyone had arrived yet. Janna came right up to me without hesitation. She and her family had driven from Missouri for vacation in the area. She'd blogged that she wanted to meet some blogger friends and several of us jumped at the opportunity.

We sat at a booth and started our introductions. Shortly after, she noticed another lady sitting alone in the waiting area up front. I went over and asked if she was Kristin. I had never been on her blog before but she lived in Orlando and knew the fourth lady from our group who had yet to arrive.

Jessica called with battery trouble and then ended up at the other Denny's up I-Drive. We waited until she arrived to eat and share.

I can only describe the time spent sharing with other writers as a piece of heaven on earth. We talked writing, submissions, agents, family and goals.

And here's something only God could have orchestrated. I asked Kristin where she was from and she mentioned PA. "I'm from there, " I said. "Where abouts?" She said "Scranton." NowScranton is really close to my hometown. Then she added, "A little town called Tunkhannock."

I thought I was hearing her wrong. You see, I'm from that little tiny town of Tunkhannock. We knew where each of us lived and everything!

I'm hoping this event can be a yearly meetup. But even if we never see each other again, the hours spent together will stay in my memories as one of those special times.

I'm so glad that you all had a wonderful time. If it's yearly, can I come??? :)

Blessed Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday to you and your family.

I'm shivering inside with such joy for you all. I even spoke out loud, "This is way cool", to myself. (definitely been around my teenage girls too much).

Okay, I'm being reminded that jealousy is not for a child of God. So I lift praise for giving you all this opportunity, and I'm glad Jessica finally arrived in her round-a-bout way, safely.

God's just the greatest. Even in the cyber world He lives!

Happy Easter!

How like the Lord to build His Body at a Denny's!

It's beautiful & strange (mysterious) how seemingly complete strangers can so immediately have a connection of the spirit. Truly we are family, and we all hail from the very same home town: His kingdom!

Great story, my friend. So glad you were all infused with inspiration. Maybe next time I can make my way there too!

Hugs,
Kathleen

I still can't get over the Tunkhannock thing. Too funny!

And I like the bangs better. More youthful. (Told you I'd give you an honest answer. lol)

How awesome to actually meet face to face! While I definitely count my cyber friends a blessing, nothing can compare with the "real" meeting!

It was so wonderful! I loved meeting you, and I'm taking exception to your "I'm already there" comment on Kristen's blog this morning. You are NOT!
I had such a great time with you guys. I would love to make it a yearly thing. :-)

how fun, i've been trying to meet another blogger who lives in my same town but she hasn't responded to my invites so guess we'll just be blog friends online and that's okay. sounds like a fun gathering..

What an awesome experience! I love it when we can meet our blogging friends. When I went to England, I met two of my blogging buddies, too. And I think Janna and I are going to meet sometime soon!

Terri,

I know how excited you were for this meeting to take place. I am so happy that it was a blessing and then some. I'm with Kathleen. "We are all connected through the spirit and we all hail from the very same home town: His kingdom!"

Have a blessed Easter.

Very, very interesting- I've always been curious to see what it would be like to meet people I've only conversed with through the internet and want to make it happen at least once.

Your meeting sounds very nice. I have met several people through the internet that somehow had a tie back to the little country town in MO where I was born and raised. It always shows me how small the world really is. Some of my very best friends have appeared to me on the internet.

One day, you may have to meet all your blogger friends at a convention center. :-)

I've enjoyed catching up on my reading here, as always.
