Blogger Bits

While I was in Washington state, I had the awesome opportunity to meet a fellow blogger and writer. Jan and her husband met us in this little town halfway across the state called Leavenworth. The restaurant we picked was closed so we wandered this quaint German-like town and found a place where the four of us could sit down and get to know each other.

She was just like I thought she would be.

I've met many other on-line friends in the past and have never been disappointed. We seem to be able to pick up immediately where we left off online and also talk about our other blogger friends as though we'd all met in person before.

Today I plan to catch up on some critiquing for my writers group that is coming on Monday again and also to write on my new WIP. I'm at 5000 words already and need to post my meter. Also cooking some homemade applesauce and have the windows open for the first time in a year! It's officially fall here in Florida!

What are your weekend plans? Does it include writing?

This is so funny I was just in Leavenworth two weeks ago. It's a cute little town. I need to write but my husband is out of town and I'm watching three of my nieces today (so there are 6 kids under 6 at my house!) So it probably won't happen today. But I'm thinking over the plot and at least that's something.

How cool! I'm hoping that maybe next year I'll be able to make the RWA conference in Nashville and meet some of my online friends.

Florida sounds heavenly today! It's a whopping 43 degrees. We've had the most unusual weather all year. It's normally in the mid-70s this time of year. Brrrrr!

Writing plans for the weekend: Some sentence level editing on a WIP I hope to send to a critique partner soon. And a blog entry about revision I hope to post on Monday.

Some critiquing, yes, but no writing, unfortunately. My family gets so ticked if I try to write while they're around. Not a good scene.

So glad you were able to meet up with some blogger friends! As for my weekend...looks like it'll involve picking a paint color for my family room and bookkeeping 3 months worth of work. Blech.;)

Hi Terri -

What fun! I'd love to meet all of you.

You mentioned a meter for your blog. Where do you get them? Jen told me she got hers from NaNoWriMo, but I'm not doing a book in a month.

Blessings,
Susan :)

I had a surprise shopping trip today. It was fun--got a pretty sweater. I'm not really a shopper, so when I actually go and find something is almost a miracle.

What a gorgeous day here in downtown Florida!

My kids had snow the day before and temps in 30's! Don't want it that cold!

Working on writing projects. Lots to do.

Missed going to my son's wedding in MA today. So very sad, but health problems kept me from being able to fly. Looking forward to loads of pics.

just finished one big project to republish my book and add 50 pages so it's now 130 instead of 80. got some other projects simmering in my mind on the back burner.

I almost danced for joy this morning when I went outside to walk the dogs at 7am and it was a little bit chilly. Fall has come to Florida. Finally!

How fun to meet bloggers and pick up where you left off. I just finished a class on fraud with a professor proclaiming dire warnings about who might be behind some of these faceless blogs. It's nice to know that your experience has been the opposite.

Homemade applesause! Yeah that sounds like fall. In Maryland we are having this rainy wet and cold for us. It hasn't gotten out of the 40s in two days. Next week we will hit 70. Today was the first day I had to turn on the heat.

I am not sure if I will write this weekend, normally I spend very little time on the comp on the weekend. I will see.

I've met two bloggers now, Tiffany and Yolanda. Cheryl and I both enjoyed it and you are right, they were as real in 'real' life as on the blog. That is neat.

My weekend plans always include writing. Like most writers, I breathe, I write.

Keep up the hard work!!

Dear Terri: I'm so happy you got to meet Jan. She's a lovely lady with an awesome gift of writing. I bought her lullaby songs record for our youngest granddaughter and love it!

I wrote some yesterday, and am blogging today. I need to go to Barbour's website, where they have guidelines for a new devo for cat lovers I'd like to submit for, and go on the Indy Christian Writers' Conference website to do some research, since I'll be attending that in a few weeks. But here i sit, blogging...

That is neat that you have met up with other blogger friends and expected them to be just what you thought they would. Very nice. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.

I love meeting my bloggy friends too, Terri. I've met several and have formed some wonderful real-life friendships as a result.

Oh, and ALL my windows are open tonight (though it's only 56!). I'm loving it! Bet your house smells wonderful with that applesauce cooking! Mmmmmm!

I wish it were fall here. I think fall passed us by. It's been really cold!

How fun.
I try and take my weekends off from writing. I don't always succeed, except for this weekend, when I had no choice. Everyone, except me, was sick :(

I'm working on an outline for my new WIP. NaNo here I come! I laid my other WIP down for awhile, I need further direction, and I still waiting to hear from God.

How awesome to meet a blogger friend in person, I would love to meet you all one day!

Happy writing...

I love Leavenworth....it is SO beautiful! One time when I was shopping there, I turned the corner of a little store and there was Amy Grant, standing in the same aisle as I was. I got to talk to her for several minutes and get her autograph. Truthfully, I think she was a bit annoyed that she was recogized but at that time (1988?), she was by far my favorite music artist so to just meet her by chance like that was AMAZING. She was performing in concert at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington (yes, there is such a place) so that's why she was in Leavenworth.
