We had a busy time this past weekend exploring the sights here in S.C. On Friday, we hurried to watch the last parade of the year at the Citadel. Cadets impressed us with their uniforms and precision drills. I didn't expect such a beautiful campus filled with history.
On Saturday, we bundled into layers and found our way to Mt. Pleasant where we boarded a ferry that took us to Fort Sumter. A different surprise today - how small this fort was! Built up from sand, it was no bigger than the space my hotel sits on. But the view was spectacular! We picked the best time to go as it is Veteran's Day weekend and the place was filled with activities honoring the vets.
