Clearly She Spoke

How many of you write something--think it sounds as clear as a Florida fall day--and then when someone else reads it and gives you feedback--you wonder if they read your neighbor's story?

This phenomenon happens to me quite often here in Blogworld. Makes me wonder if my writing off-line sometimes does the same thing.Hope not.

But it makes me think I need to be less fluffy sometimes in my writing and get right to the point--like I do in my conversations with people.

So I'll get to the point now.

(I'll bet you're thinking ooooohhhh . . . she's going to spill something good.)

Hang on. Don't start making the popcorn yet.

I had a pretty up and down writing week last week--one acceptance--one agent rejection --and a box of my books came to my house with my latest story in it plus a nice check.

So I am starting this week without any expectations . . . except for one.

I Will Write.

Was I clear enough?

(Now spill your guts about your week's expectations. I'll get the ice cream.)

Make sure you get cherry vanilla 'cause that's one of my favorites.

I too will just write this week.

I am stumbling through a few pieces and have about a few hundred swimming around or floating around in my head, so I'll follow your lead and make sure if nothing else that I write this week.

Thanks for your encouragement as always.

Have a great writing week.

Blessings
Vickie

Perfectly good and clear goal, Terri. I plan on doing the same, after rounding up Pushcart Prize noms for The Rose & Thorn.

Now, let those fingers fly!

That's a great goal, Terri. I think I'll write, too, among getting more house projects done. I hope to have a successful few days!

Cool! Books and a check? Sounds like my kind of day. :-)

I know I need to get better at disciplining myself to write. Thanks for the nudge! :-)

Oh yeah,

HMMM, writing-wise- 1,000 words a day while keeping my family happy and the laundry done.

Terri, not a bad plan. And I agree with anoocre8ion (Vickie)...cherry vanilla ice cream will hit the spot. Keep writing.

My goals??? At least 1667 words a day to stay on track with NaNo during November. Should keep me pretty busy.

My week's going to be full of family plans, so not a lot of writing will get done. But I'd like some ice cream, thank you.

Interesting! I just found out a won a full freezer worth of ice cream in a recipe contest. Wish you all were here to share it with me. I'm going to think up and test some more recipes this week.

I would love to write this week. Maybe I'll be able to after I unpack and get things situated. I really, really miss my writing.

Waiting on God. :-) But when He speaks, I'll be writing!

Love to ya,

I think you ARE writing! You might want to go to www.storycircle.org and scroll down on the lefthand side to the Market Watch section and look at all the publishing opportunities for stories. I was amazed at how many there were. Perhaps some will appeal to you.

Boy, I should probably have some more expectations for my week, but right now, I'm just looking at my evening...

hoping to do some tweaking on a piece of writing after the kids go to bed.

Thanks for the encouragement, Terri. I, too, think I should write this week.

I'm my own best critic and editor rolled into one. I'm forever tweaking this or that (whether it's writing or my daily agenda).

This week my goal is as clear as fog: recoup from a 12 day family visit.

Be blessed, and may all the words you select to pen obey your meanings.
