Ahhh . . . Mondays. The day I like to read all the blogs I enjoy and fill my mind and heart with encouragement. It's the day of the week I look forward to most because it means I am at the start of a new week--when anything can happen.
My husband started a volunteer job last week that allows him free unlimited golf. His passion is golfing but being unemployed makes it almost impossible to persue. A blogger friend of mine sent me a gift certificate last week for helping her with some writing. I get to shop online at Barnes and Nobles--something I've had to forgo for the present.
I love how God provides us with those sweet blessings in the midst of our trials. So when Monday rolls around, I can't help but think about my writing. Is this the week something might be accepted? Is this the week, I'll write that knock-out chapter? Is this the week, someone will send me feedback that will change and improve my style forever?
When we push forward, it's the only way we'll see what God has in store for us. I heard a TV Evangelist say last week that if Ruth hadn't pushed forward when she was out scouring the fields for food, she wouldn't have found the handfuls left on purpose for her. I'm not a Bible scholar but this example tells me that I need to keep pushing forward with my writing because that handful of encouragement might come this week.
Will it for you too?

I hope so! :-) Great example of Ruth. She was a strong-minded woman.
Have fun shopping with your card.
I am so glad that you shared the nugget about Ruth.
To pursue and not give up.
If you haven't read, "When Crickets Cry" by Charles Martin, I suggest that for your B&N gift certificate, or check out your local library. You will NOT be dissapointed friend.
Love,
Yolanda
good thoughts, today my writer's wordshop meets to encourage and help one another. I've loved teaching this as it stimulates me to publish more.
Even before reading Jessica's comment, I said to myself "I hope so." too. You just never know. I guess that means we should always be prepared, and pushing forward to be ready to receive.
Thanks for the encouragement, Terri. I hope you discover a find like Ruth's this week, too!
Terri,
I just have to quote some of what you said, "Ahhh...Yes, I love how God provides us with those sweet blessings in the midst of our trials." It's so refreshing to hear that this morning. Just as you have blessed others, so He blesses you. What a nice gift you received. Enjoy shopping at Barns and Nobles!
I'm pushing forward in all ways and I certainly get encouragement coming here. I hope that God blesses you more and more this week.
Love you,
Alleluiabelle
I like the positive spin you put on Mondays. I'm just sort of glum about Monday mornings since I have to be at work, but I really need to count my blessings that I have a job to go to.
And I love the small blessings you and your husband are receiving - you never know what those trips to the golf course might bring for your husband - more connections or job leads possibly? And have fun shopping at B&N.com!
Enjoy shopping online at Barnes & Noble dear sister. I am a book nut myself.
I am pushing forward in Jesus name this week. Productive not busy! :)
I'm glad your hubby is enjoying golfing.
Bless you.
Terri, what a blessing about the gift certificate (and the golf for your husband) :) You're right, there's always a reason to keep pushing forward. I love your posts, they're always so encouraging and give me a great start to the day. Thanks!
It's built in, this pushing forward thing ... as if God Himself keeps coaxing & encouraging us! You have a unique race to run, and run it you are.
"I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." Phil 3:12-14
I push forward every week. I don't know how not to.
Pushing forward into the grace that waits!

Oooh I love your post! You've motivated me this Monday morning! What a wonderful analogy with Ruth. I'm sure I'll be thinking of that all day.
I came across a similar story in the book of Exodus this morning, when the children of God were faced with the Red Sea and Pharoah's army. Something I'd never seen before ... about pushing forward, moving out, with God instead of waiting on Him to move. We see it over and over again in scripture ... to move out in faith and be obedient to do what we must.
Holy cooperation between us and God. It's what He means for us to do. Who knows what awaits us as we do? He does.
Can't wait to hear about His provision in your life. Keep me posted.

Wow Terri. This was my first visit to your blog. Not only is it beautiful but your post blessed my heart. I pray that THIS will be YOUR WEEK!!! The week that is highlighted on your calendar as a week filled with every one of those things you wondered about!
Your writing is beautiful!!
Sweet Week!
Pat
I sure hope so Terri. I hope that God will bless me with a dollop of encouragement from my writing/blogging friends and anybody else He choses to throw into the mix.
Have a very productive week.
Very cool post, Terri. Love the connection to Ruth! I wrote a short Lenten play on Ruth, Naomi & Boaz last year for our church. I love this story.
Yes, just keep pushing forward! Great little reminder.
So very true, about those sweet blessings in the times of trial. May you have many!
I am a firm believer that God puts opportunities out there for all of us but some people just don't look. Keep pushing you will get there. And on another note, I am available for golf outings. :)
What an encouraging post Terri. Even with my broken computer I am determined to push forward with some bible studies I have been working on.
Nothing beats good old pen and paper.
Thank you for sharing your blessings with us.

I love your positive attitude. I wish you all the best this week, too. I got a similar motivational nudge from a surprise visit from our advertising manager this week. When asked how business is going, I told him we are plugging along in our selling, but it's almost impossible to close a sale. He said: "good that you keep moving...it's not possible to drown when you keep moving your arms and legs."
Thanks for sharing such a great thought. In fact, it is very healthy to look forward for something refreshing and encouraging.
God is great and always bless everyone. Have faith on Him and He shall continue to guide and lead us to overcome whatsoever obstacles we are facing.
Please do visit my blog and you will most assuredly be lifted up. Check it out and have a pleasant visit. Cheers and look forward to welcoming you there,
