Blogger Bits and Blessings

If you like winning prizes, stop over at Donna's blog and see what she has in store to give away! But tell her I sent you:)

I found out this week I am in the Chicken Soup for the Soul: Count your Blessings book that comes out later this fall. Watch for when I give away a few copies. This story they are publishing has special meaning to me as the idea came from my good friend who told me to post a blank sheet of paper on my refrigerator and list any and all blessings on the days I felt particularly worried about our financial situation. God can turn our trials into triumphs!

Other update-still writing for Blue Mountain cards and the editor has picked up the option on a few and told me she will on another I just sent in.

One of my critique partners finished reading my book this week and that is a real blessing. I loved her suggestions and now am waiting for the other to complete it so I can take another run through it before submitting.

What are some of your blessings this week?

Getting your ms back from critique is always a good thing. It’s amazing the points/flaws that others can see that the writer can’t. You won’t adopt all recommendations of course, but probably a fair number of them…and the document will be the better for it. It’s fun to see the ms grow from what you thought was pretty good to very good…just through the power of critique.

WOOOHOOOO, Terri! Congrats on getting into the Chicken Soup Book! I'm happy for you! I actually sent something off for that book too. Since I haven't heard from them and they said they'd be going to publisher soon, I guess I didn't make it in. Oh well! There's always next time!

Bunches of hugs of congrats!!

Blessings this week for me were finally getting a new upgrade computer and getting rid of the lemon one I've been going crazy with! The second blessing with that is that I have a wonderful techno hubby who can get everything up and running and resolve all my problems with it.

Congratulations on all your accomplishments!
I started a woman's social/sharing group yesterday. Our next meeting will be Oct.14. We have decided to rotate homes. I am blessed that this got off the ground. I have set aside writing for now. We are still having financial problems, but the blessing is that God has taken care of us thus far!

Congratulations on the books and the cards!

It's been a busy week. We lost part of our income and God immediately blessed us with retuning it in a new way. He also answered an issue we've been praying about for months. Isn't our God faithful!

First, may I please say that I love your quote, "As for me and my blog, we will serve the Lord." Utterly awesome.

Blessings this week: my husband has really begun to start supporting my writing to a new level and I have a new writing schedule that will allow twice as much time to work. I consider it such a blessing.

Yay!!! Congrats on the stories and cards! :-)

Hmm, my blessings...eeek. I probably need to pay more attention because lately I've felt really tired and stressed.
I'd say my kids are blessings because when I feel blah they usually make me smile somehow. :-)

Congratulations! I love the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. I'll have to watch for that one. I've had some eureka moments this week, which have helped me improve my ms a great deal. This is always a blessing. I love the blank paper on the refridgerator idea. I'll have to try that.

What wonderful news on several fronts!! I am so blessed and I try to thank God each evening. So many of our friends recently have been stricken with cancer and life threatening situations that I just thank God each day for blessing us with good health. Sometimes it's easy for me to forget what a blessing this is!

Terri: I am so thrilled for you re: CSFS book this fall, and card verses! God is opening doors to you. He has not forgotten your cries for help.

I am grateful for my husband, who believes in me sometimes more than I believe in myself!

Well... I'm thinking that stumbling on your blog through Lin is going t turn out to be a pretty big blessing. I enjoy your style. ALthough I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper, and I enjoy the positive feedback from some wonderful people I've met blogging... I don't aspire to being a published author. I guess I'd rather have the way I live each day be my legacy. I wonder, could that be fearful or lazy thinking talking. hmmmm... may have to chew on that for a bit.

Anyway, I plan to stop in often.

Great news Terri. Congratulations on your accomplishments. His word never ever fails, not one time. He said if we acknowledge Him in all our ways He will direct our paths. Keep on acknowledging Him.

My blessing for this week is that I have just been accepted into Bible school, something which I really desired for a long time and God has answered.

He is so wonderful.

Blessings,
Vickie

So cool that you are writing cards. I tried that at one time, but didn't have your success. May have to give it another go. Love how you are busy on so many wonderful things.
