Confessions

I've got a confession to make.

I hate confessing but I really need to do this. After all, I can't hide behind my excuses anymore.

Many of you probably already know about my weakness. You know what they say. I'm sure it's all over the Internet by now. I probably can't even click on Facebook or Twitter anymore without an arrow pointing at me.

It won't even help to tell you've I've always been this way. Even way back in elementary school when they passed out gold stickers. To me. On my paper.

*Deep Breath.*

Okay I confess. I'm lazy.

You heard me. I am so very lazy. When kind nice bloggers give me a blogging award, I'm too lazy to figure out all the directions to post it, answer all the questions it demands, and then pick from my 100 and some fellow bloggers to pass it on.

*Another deep breath.* (A little deeper.)

So here is what I'm going to do.

THANK YOU to any one who ever gave me an award. I am always so grateful and appreciative when you do. It melts a part of my heart and makes me feel really good. Like when I won something in school. (That one time.)

So to make up for it, (and pretend here that you really do care), I will answer any question that anyone of those awards demand. All in one post.

And I'll even start you off.

Q.: What's your favorite book, Terri?

A. I haven't a clue.

So now. My guilt is gone. I feel better.

Anyone else have any confessions to start the week?

My favorite is usually the one I'm reading. Right now, "What To Do On The Worst Day Of Your Life" by Brian Zahnd will be the first book that I read twice.

Confessions? There is always something to confess. Perhaps related to lazy is feeling overwhelmed. In fact, I think that leads us to being lazy. We have so much on our platter, don't know which to do first, so we feel paralyzed and do nothing of substance. Yup, I do that one. wb

great title for your post? my question: "what keeps you from changing?"

Hahaa! LOL I love getting awards but I'm horrible at "playing" with them. Blech.
Glad you feel better now. :-)

Hee hee, very funny post! I'm the same way, and you're definitely not alone.

Well deserved awards, by the way!

You are too funny. Hope you have a wonderful week.

this is too funny. Since you said it, I admit - I too have been too lazy to figure out, post or answer the things with the awards. Thanks for the admit. Courgeous + (lazy) lady

Haha! Thanks for making me laugh! Have a great labor day!

Great post! I confess I have mixed feelings about those awards as well.

Okay my confession is that I can be lazy too...with some things more than others. Why is that? I am believing for the wisdom that I need to overcome and be what I am called to be:) Enjoyed reading the post!
Happy Labor Day to all.

I'll have to join the lazy club! My confession...I need to learn how to just say no. Have a great day!

OK...you know all those chain emails you get..."pass this on to 10 of your friends" "please don't break this chain" "something wonderful will happen by the end of the day if you forward this message"? I NEVER send them on. I'm the chain breaker. Yes, it's me. And all the forwarded poems and funny pictures? Most of the time I don't even look at them. Don't hate me.

you're forgiven. we've all been there. it's super cool to get an award you can post to your blog, yet doing the "rule" thing along with them can sometimes be a drag. especially if another person gives you the same award. and you're like, "i just came up with 8 creative things last week! do i have to do it again?" yikes. you're totally forgiven. :)

Terri, you're not alone. I've received awards for my blog that I didn't pass on either. On the bright side, no one is suffering guilt because we gave them an award and they didn't pass it on. How's that for rationalizing? :)

Eileen Astels Watson said...

Oh, Terri, I'm so lazy too, especially with blog awards. I too love receiving them, but am awful with sharing the gift!! Sorry for that, but I really do love receiving them!

Awards are more work than I usually put into my novels lol! All those links and things... You deserve them anyway ;)

Too funny!! I confess that I am a procrastinator. I always thought that i was right on target, until lately. I don't want to do anything anymore...clean, bake, cook, pay bills, laundry...It's all such a chore. I am typing this at 2:52 p.m. and I still have not made my bed.....sigh

I am deeply grateful to each person whose given me an award. Thank you all. But, for the life of me, if I never get another, that’s fine. I’ve never passed on one, never answered questions. Don’t mean to sound like a curmudgeon, but, well, awards are just kind of an imposition. Wanna show you like my blog, stop by regularly and leave a comment, it’s that easy. Much more appreciated than an award.

Hi Terri -

You're not alone. I like getting awards, but those posts are a ton of work.

I confess it takes a super effort to sit down and work on my projects. Once I get started, I'm fine. Did I write today? I'm happy to say, "yes."

Blessings,
Susan :)

Great post, Terri. I love getting the awards, too, but can't seem to pick who to pass it on to--usually just 'award' it to everyone who comes to my blog. I always feel like I'm leaving someone out if I don't just give it to everyone:)

Another confession? I am way behind on answering my emails. I think about them, answer them in my head, but it seems to take me forever to get them done!

Terri, you're not the only one. I'm a procrastinator. Intertwined in that descriptive word is laziness and/or fear. I've been pushing out of it my whole life!

There are so many wonderful blogs and bloggers out there in blogland. I would love to spend my days getting to them all better but it's difficult to visit and comment on all. I do read them all and each one is special. And I too thank those who take the time to comment and send awards my way.

Kathleen said...

Well that settles it then. You've come clean and paved the way for the rest of us.

Me ... I'm just greedy. I love getting those awards (so I can post them on my blog) but then I don't want to answer the questions or tag anyone else. Just gimme the goods, thank you.

There you have you: Greedy & Lazy. Sounds like a couple of dwarfs.

Hugs,
Kathleen

Sometimes I have a zillion and one things to do, don't know which one to start with. And eventually forget to do them. And when I do remember, I'm just too lazy to do it. BAD!

Urh that's my confession.
Cheers

Well Terri, I understand about the awards...I feel the same way about those and the meme things, though like you, I appreciate the sentiment. *smile*

I confess to: feeling overwhelmed more often than I'd like. Prayer and chocolate definitely help.

Carmen said...

LOL!! They're good AND they're bad, aren't they. I received an award one time, and no matter how hard I tried, I just could not get it to work for me. I finally gave up. Don't worry...no one minds if you don't pass it on.

Heather Sunseri said...

Congratulations on your awards, Terri. You deserve them. I find the most difficult part of awards is passing them on. I never want to hurt peoples' feelings.

I'm to lazy to decide what book I like!

R
notice how I was to lazy to actually type my whole name...

Melissa Amateis said...

Haha! My confession is along those same lines. I forgot to accept my awards so many times that I simply posted a "thank you" one day to all those who had given me an award, but that I wouldn't be featuring it as its own blog post because I had forgotten to do it so many other times and didn't want anyone to feel left out!

My confession - I started my daughter in daycare so I could have a little time to write and get things done.... I have yet to start on those things. :)

I felt bad not following up on a couple of awards but I don't know how to do the links and it's all over my head. I agree that you deserve awards whether you post them or not.

It would appear that confession is not only good for the soul, it makes darn good reading.

I laughed and laughed at this post until the laughter sputtered out and I had to admit that I also haven't wanted to take the time to learn all the necessary buttons to push on the computer to respond to, give thanks for, and forward an award.

Then it hit me... Omagosh! Am I also just too lazy to do it? I've been trying to delude myself into believing that I was too inexperienced, too computer illiterate, too old of a dog to learn to jump through a burning hoop. But, you know what? I'm probably just too lazy. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I may have to rethink this blossoming friendship if you make me look at myself too long, too hard, too often. (joke joke)

And thank you for dropping by my site now ande then. I love your comments.

Clementine said...

Terri, you made my day with that one, gal! lol!!!! I've been given some sweet blog awards, but they ARE time-consuming when it comes to posting this, and writing that, and emailing such and such...
You crack me up!!!! You aren't lazy, just better at prioritizing.

Kim said...

hahahaha
Aren't we all?
For me it's also a matter of time.
I have a very limited amount of time I can do fun stuff on the computer -- i.e., blog hop and write posts. Doing the award thing takes time. Sometimes time I don't have. What's a girl to do?!
By the way, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!
