Query Update
I'm keeping my list. Marking it twice.
Sound familiar? Yeah, I have a notebook I use for tracking where and what I'm sending out to agents. But I wanted to share something with you. I mentioned it on Facebook but wanted to share here as well.
Because of all your help, I had a request for a full from my latest query!
Now I recognize nothing might come of it. But what it did for me was show me that I could put together a query that might capture the interest of an agent. Isn't that what this step is all about?
Of course, once I get passed that, I better hope I have a great story they want to read. Not every agent will. Not every agent will even like my style. A lot could happen. Or not.
Today, though, I'm happy that my effort (and yours) worked. Thank you!
So now tell me, how has a writer friend helped you lately?

I'm SO excited for you, Terri! That an agent said "yes" shows you are on the right path. I understand that it's not a guarantee (I have an agent looking at my proposal, as well) but it IS encouraging, isn't it? I just keep remembering to trust God with it all.
Praying you hear good news on this!
Yea! Progress in the right direction. I'll do my happy dance for you...
What great news, Terri!! I'm so happy for you. No matter what happens, you're doing all the right things and making wonderful progress. :)
Great news, Terri! Congratulations! My writer friends help me on a daily basis. Thanks for being one of them.
How has a writer friend helped me lately? Well you should know. I can't begin to thank you for all the encouragement you have given me. I hope to follow in your footsteps with the query thing.
Me again... Just wondering why you use the notebook instead of a spreadsheet?
Hope all turns out well.
I get so much help from all the writers who blog!
I also have a friend who is a writer and she helps edit for me.
Woo hoo! I'm so happy about the full request. Can't wait to hear what happens and regardless of the outcome, there was something great in your writing that made someone want to take a chance on you :D
I get help from writers everyday. Directly and indirectly. A lot through blogs and recently through my lovely critique group. You guys are great!
that's great, i'm focusing on teaching one of my grand daughters how to edit her manuscript like avoid run on sentences, etc. she's ready for that step now and i published her article on my blog today.
Wow that's great. Congrats and I hope that full turns into an offer :)
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!!!!! I am so happy for you, Terri! And since no editor is neaby with her red pen, I can make all the exclamation marks my little heart craves!!!!
I hope this turns into something wornderful for you, and agent contract or better yet, a book contract! My prayers come your way, and my joy!! yippeee dippeee doodles!!!!
Love,
Jen
Oh, you asked what favor an author had done for me lately. Jim Watkins, a friend and wonderful writer, did an interview for me. It will be on my blog, Audience of One, next Weds and Friday. Please join me; I am gifting one of his books--the winner will get to choose.
Sorry about all the misspelled words in my above comment. I went wild with joy, and forgot to proofread!
Love,
Jen
Congrat's Girl!
Soon you'll be at your first book signing.
I'm putting in my order for an autographed copy!!!
Blessings
Robin
Congratulations, Terri!!!
That's awesome news. Debbie Macomber said in one of her keynotes at the ACFW conference that we need to celebrate the little accomplishments. This is more than a little accomplishment--so definitely we must CELEBRATE!!!
Keep us posted please!
Thanks for your diligence in the process. I know it will pay off for you one day soon. You are a great writer. How's the bathroom coming?

Woo hoo! So proud of all your efforts. Praise God! :O)
Yayyyyyy!!!!!! That's SO awesome! I'm very excited for you. :-) I just had a full requested so I think I kind of know how you feel right now. :-)
Is it the romance or the women's fiction? I can't remember which query I read....
Awesome, Terri!! How exciting! We definitely need those validations that we're on track doing something right! Keep up the good work!
Just dropping by for a quick hello and to read through the posts I've missed in recent days.
My life's a bit of a flurry right now as we prepare for our Tuesday departure. But I don't plan on leaving until I've made my rounds and had a dose of my favs. It'll be three weeks until I have a computer again.
Maybe you'll be published big time by then. I pray it is so!
Blessings,
Kathleen
Hi Terri -
I'm excited for you! Enjoy and celebrate every positive, encouraging step.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Hooray, Terri!!! Even though there are still many unknowns at this point, you've taken a big step forward. You're a wonderful writer so something very well may come of it! If not this time, then one day soon.
As for your question...as a matter of fact, a writer has helped me with an article recently...
Blessings, my friend,
Kelli
Yes, Terri! It's a small step that could prove to take you very far.
That's incredible, Terri! You must be so excited! What wonderful validation for you. You must be doing something right. Celebrate that.
Woo-hoo! Congrats!!
praying God lays it on their heart to looooove the 'full' and your dream is realized.
I learn from people like you every day. Even if I don't comment, I read what you write and let it soak in.
Congrats, Terri! My writer friends (like you:) always provide encouragement and great info to help me move forward with my writing. I am so thankful for them.
Blessings to you and your readers!
Congratulations on getting to the next step. I hope your manuscript makes a big spash.
You rock Terri! I hope they love, love, love the full!
Whoop! whooop whoop! yayyyyyyy! :-)
Awesome news, Terri!
Congrats. A request for a full is but one more step toward publication.
Yay for you!!!!!! I had a stroke of inspiration today that came in a weekly email regarding locally-owned businesses in my area....I can't remember who said it but it went something like "The only difference between try and triumph is a little 'umph.'" Looks like your "umph" is going to become a triumph!!!!
Congrats on the full request. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Congratulations on that request for a full. Here's hoping it leads to good news.
