The view from the mountaintop

God can do anything.

In His timing.

That truth became a reality for me today. Hope has come alive once again in my life after a drought of two and a half years. After seeing our savings run down. After counting how many days we had left on our COBRA. After sleepless nights and long days worrying, wondering and praying.

I was offered a job today as a Social Worker.

What is more amazing than the offer is the timing.

It was posted for only one day. On a Saturday. I usually e-mail about jobs. This time I got bold and drove to the HR office and applied in person. The benefits are the top of the line. And best yet. The salary is the highest I’ve ever earned in my life. Enough to survive.

Did God know or what?

Yeah, I would have loved to get this offer a long time ago. But I don’t think I would have appreciated it as much as I do now. I wasn’t as broke and I don’t think my attitude was ready to work with the elderly again.

But He knew.

So today is the day I get to post the news I have waited for so long to post.

I’m employed!

God hears our prayers. Mine and the countless ones from all of you out there. Thank you so much for all your support.

You know what’s best of all? I’m climbing that mountain.

I truly have God-skin; and isn't it when we are in the valley, often times a long lonely valley...that we draw nearer and nearer to Him and when He says, NOW....that climb up is so glorious? I'm thrilled for you!! GO GOD!

Terri, the same happened to my husband two years ago. He brought his last severance check in from the mail, stared at it, stared at me, looked like a kicked puppy and went to watch tv. (AT nearly 60, I knew how hard this was for him). An hour and a half later, the big bosses called and offered him a job, not the same one, but with the same pay and benefits. He could start right away. God didn't even allow us to worry (cuz we shouldn't have been before-okay, we're human) more than one and a half hours. God is more than good, He's awesome! Congrats!

Only tears of joy in this moment as I see the hand of God move in profound measure for a friend. His provision is stunning; and while we cannot always trace his hands in our many matters... they are there. And your faith, my friend, has just grown. You will remember this the next time you hit a "bump" in the road.

Thank you precious Lord for taking care of my friend.
