I learned a lot from all of you last week after I wrote the previous post. I learned that I need to LET GO and LET GOD.
So that’s what I’m going to do for a pause.
Slow down. Learn my new life here in Texas. Read books. Draw closer to God. Write if the urge comes. Don’t write if it doesn't.
I’ve been blogging almost six years and in that time I have written six books. Some I’m proud of, some not so. They were each a learning experience. I don’t think I would throw away any of them as each carries a part of me and a part of my life at that time.
That’s what I love about writing. We get to add in a little bit of us in everything we write.
But now, I need to sit back and put some of this change together without the pressure I tend to put on myself.
So I’m pausing in my blogging but not in my writing or my friendships on Facebook or Twitter or dropping by your blogs.
And when I finally think I can take a go at this with renewed energy, I’ll be back. Thank you!

I'll look forward to seeing you around fb and twitter!
terri - you are wonderful. glad you know your limits and are taking the time that you need for yourself. as you said - let go and let god. i need to remember that myself.
Good for you :-) Take care and enjoy this time of renewal.
You do what you feel is best for you. I think many of us lately, including myself, have come to this conclusion. We all need time for "renewal."

I hear ya. Take care. Enjoy your pause.
And see ya when you return. I'm sure you'll have oodles of stories to tell when you do.
God bless.
Let nothing upset you,
Let nothing startle you.
All things pass;
God does not change.
Patience wins all it seeks.
Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone is enough.
~ St. Teresa of Avila
I keep this on my desk, and somehow I thought it was fitting for your post today. Enjoy your time of rest.
good for you...to everything there is a season!
Let go and let God is the best thing if only we can do it! Enjoy your pause :) And six books in six years is some accomplishment!
Good for you, Terri! Had to nod my head in agreement when I read this sentence, "But now, I need to sit back and put some of this change together without the pressure I tend to put on myself." We can be our own worst enemy, right?! Enjoy your 'pause'!
Have a great pause and may God bless your time and bring you renewal and refreshment.
So glad you came to a realization that seems fitting for you right now. Remember that it takes a lot to write six books so you've already done more than you probably even imagined! I can't even imagine writing 2 books, let alone 6, so be proud of it. I'm also thinking of being active on Twitter so I'm excited to follow you!! Sometimes a pause, a hiatus, is exactly what we need to keep us going.
You have been so, so successful in writing and blogging! Enjoy the pause and I hope you come out of it refreshed. In the meantime, I'll be seeing you on Facebook. *grin*
I'm glad you're taking this time, Terri. I really hope it's rejuvenating and it gives you more clarity about the next step of your journey. And I'll be praying for you!
Sometimes we need to pause. I'll keep you in my prayers. Keep in touch.
It's a hard decision, but one you'll enjoy. The struggle sometimes affects our vision. We are creatures that function best when we've had enough rest. Rest in Him! Enjoy!! See you on nFB!
I'll see you around My Book Therapy.
I'm glad to see you doing what you need to in order to take care of yourself. May you find the refreshment and renewed energy you seek.
Good for you, Terri! Settle in, take time to renew and regroup. I'll be praying for you!
And look forward to hearing from you again!
Enjoy your break, Terri! See ya around Facebook! :)
Smart girl, miss Terri. Enjoy that pause. You WILL know when to come out of it.
Hope you have a wonderful, rejuvenating break, Terri!
Good for you! I'm here for you whenever.
peace~elaine
I was about to link to you on my blog for linky love tomorrow, but I will wait until you return - will miss reading your wonderful posts.
Good for you, Terri! Blessings!!!
A pause is always good. I hope you get settled into your new Texas home. I hear good things about Texas, so it sounds like you're in a good place. Take care.
Good for you, Terri. If you don't take loving care of yourself, who will? Some women have a problem doing that, because they feel guilty. YOU deserve to be rested, happy, joyful, etc. I'll be sending you hugs via the internet!
It's important to get proper rest and re-charge. I didn't and almost crashed.
You'll enjoy visiting blogs, Facebook, and Twitter without the pressure. Savor it, and allow your friends to encourage you.
Have a nice break. The desire to write again will come back sooner than you'd expect. I hope you are enjoying your new home.
Refresh and recharge! Will see you on fb, etc. Take care! :)
everyone needs a break. It is time for you to concentrate on you. Will keep in touch on Facebook for now. Blessings, Terri
Take care, Terri. Enjoy the break. Will catch up with you on Facebook.
This sounds like a wonderful plan. You can always write if you want to, but the pressure is off. I love that. Also love your line, "We get to add a little of us in everything we write." Isn't it great how that works out? Bless you, Nancy
Oh no! I mean, I totally understand taking a break from blogging. I consider doing that like, every other day, but the people keep me coming back (like you).
I love what you said about your books - I feel the same way about mine, even though 2 of the 4 I've written so far might be dead ends (or require such massive re-imaginings that they'd basically become new books). But they are still part of me - love how you put it: "That’s what I love about writing. We get to add in a little bit of us in everything we write. "
I will miss you.
Good for you, Terri. I know the Lord will renew your soul. Love you!
Sometimes a break is the best thing. I will miss you though, and I look forward to your return.
That's okay. FB does a good job keeping us in contact in the meantime.
Certainly understand the need to pull back from some things and jump into others! :) Glad we'll still "see" each other on FB.
Good for you, Terri. I think that's a wonderful idea. Rest, refresh, renew, and then return.
God bless you as you hit the pause button, my friend.
Hi Terri. I just caught up on your blog posts! (I've been in pause mode for a while, now.)
I love your honesty and style. Can't wait to read your romance!
Prayers and hugs.
Enjoy the break!
Sometimes, you need to take a break, and that's all there is to it. Will look forward to reading more of your writing later when you feel like blogging.
Thinking of you <3 <3
Enjoy your time of refreshing. Blessings.
You have indeed been blogging for a very long time! I do hope "slowing" down is rejuvenating your spirit. I'm not pausing in my blogging, but I'm not spending addictive hours with it anymore. It isn't where the "real" satisfaction comes from. My thoughts continue to be with you, Terri!

Praying for you as you take a sabbatical. May our Lord Jesus minister to your spirit and fill you to overflowing with words.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
