So I'm back where I wanted to live for many years.
Unfortunately my husband still misses Florida and our home there and his former career. He's not even sure if he can visit the area again. I don't blame him. Living in Florida was his dream.
But dreams die even when we do everything we can to prevent it.
His comments make me wonder if we can ever let go of some of the hardships we go through. I know we are forever changed. We think differently now. We spend differently. We choose our friendships differently.
I'm hoping new dreams will appear--ones we'll grab onto and praise God for giving us.
Already we're building a new home. I think I'll like it better than all the rest. We're starting our business back up and even though it might not be what we want to do it's a means to an end.
Dreams take time to create and grow. I have to believe that God brought us back here because He sees new ones for us.
What's really important is having dreams. When you wake up and have none, what do you have? I've had my writing dreams for years. Now I'm waiting on my life dreams to take shape.
It isn't easy starting over. You'll probably see me write those words now and then but I like to think I'm opening the first page to a new book. Anything is possible.
yeah, I'm dreaming already.

It sounds like you're really embracing the different seasons in your life. Change is hard, but you're handling it with grace.
Change is challenging, but I am glad that you are adjusting and happy. I know when we moved from NJ to KY 8 years ago, it was a while before KY felt like home. I'd lived in NJ over 40 years, so the transition was an interesting one. I like how you compare it to opening a new book. :)
good for you. many times our expectations of our lives are not what God has in mind for us, but He leads us along...the challenge is to be grateful for all the experiences.
what an amazing post. Dreams...they always do come and I think when we've been through the tough stuff they come stronger....and more beautiful than ever. Hugs to you Terri....praying for guys that new dreams will grow bigger...stronger everyday.
Change, transitions, loss, adjustments--you've experienced all those things and it must have been very hard. But it sounds like you're looking ahead with hope, and that's all good. Wishing you all the best in the journey :-)
New chapters in our lives are amazing times of possibility and promise. All those blank pages, just waiting to be filled!
Write them well, sister. What a story you're telling!

Terri,I find you so much in tune with God's will, that you embrace everything that is dealt out to you with dignity and without grumbling. Hugs.
Anything is always possible. That's the way it is with God to help us. I hope this new place is just what will make your new dreams soar.
Sounds like you have it altogether, God first, and everything else will fall into place. It could even be that others are looking to you, and your husband for inspiration. So glad you are starting your own business, that will give you a chance to impact your community in a positive way. Florida will always be there, for vacations or whatever else God may have in mind for the future. Blessings.
You are writing a whole new book...just think, your life plot can go anywhere that you want it to go now.
Dream on, Terri!
And on you go Terri, with God walking ahead, leading you but always holding your hold.
I see hope in the words you've written here. Hope in new beginnings ... scrabbling for hope out of the remnants of hard times ... believing that God will make all things beautiful if even you can't see it just yet ...
And you're helping me believe that too.
Just what I needed today.
I'm so happy you're finally dreaming again. Never stop. God gave us imagination to help our dreams take shape, and to give us hope for our prayers to be answered.
Hi Terri - Just found your blog by googling inspirational writing. Seems I've found a kindred spirit. :) I've been writing as a believer in Christ for about 25 years and the dream is still alive, tho' it keeps changing. I'm a regular devotional columnist at www.novelrocket.com and have put some of those pieces into an ebook. You might find it encouraging - just go to www.smashwords.com/books/view/58017
I'll be back. :)Marcia Laycock

I understand about dreams and starting over. I've done it twice in the last decade, and the road hasn't been easy.
Who would have thought we'd be chasing new dreams at this time in our lives?
Praying for you.
xoxo,
Mary
