Moving Forward

My last post was really depressing. But that's where I was when I wrote it. I try not to hover there too long.

So I decided I'm a writer and in-between jobs, I plan to make the most of it and write.

Here's the best part. I had a free ticket and what better way to use it but to fly for Mother's day to Seattle to see my daughter? She married on that holiday and moved across the country on that day. In four years, we've never celebrated it together.

The second best part: there is a writers' conference going on then in her town of Bothell. And I am going! So is a blogger friend I met when I was out there last fall.

But the third best part of this whole deal is I plan to pitch my latest book that I am almost done with. Miracle on Coulter Mountain

I've never pitched in person to an agent before so in the coming weeks, I might be soliciting some wise advice from those of you who have done it.

So as my former boss would say, "Moving Forward."

How are you moving forward today?

Hi Terri -

Sounds like a plan! It's great you have a book to pitch.

I haven't decided on going to a writers conference yet. I'm still praying for direction on pitching my book.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Sounds awesome! Some days...like today, I am simple clinging to my Heavenly Father and putting one foot in front of the other...trying my best to be obedient.

Terri, I tried to comment on your last post, but couldn't for some reason. I'm sorry to hear about the job. That's disappointing, but I'm glad to hear that it's not weighing you down too much! What an exciting trip you've got planned! Will be wishing you all the best as you pitch your book!

Terri, I'm happy to hear you're using your hiatus to return to your writing.

How exciting that you'll be able to spend Mother's Day with your daughter. I hope you enjoy your visit and your time at the writers conference.

Seattle sounds wonderful. I've only pitched to editors and agents at one conference, but what I learned was to remember that they're just people too. I got so worked up about it, but they were friendly. Don't put too much pressure on yourself.

Terri,
I've been away for so long and it's wonderful to come back here for a visit. I've missed you and your writing. Reading through your last few posts, I can REALLY relate to what you've written about. I sure wish I could pop on over to Cracker Barrel and join you for dinner!!

Praying that the writing continues to go well and that you connect with an agent. Here's to new beginnings and fresh starts.

Blessings,
Kelli

Sounds like you are on a definite path, maybe not exactly what you thought would be happening right now, but God's timing is perfect.

I always think about a scene from one of the Matrix movies where Morphius says it all happened exactly how it was supposed to happen and Neo asks him how he knows this and he responds because we are still alive.... Extreme, but at times I think yup, I'm still here and moving forward. Good luck and hugs! :O)

Yes I love that you are doing something and not just jumping directly back into the "job hunt". Declare your victory, of peace and power.

I am so glad you are pitching a book I am sure you will get great advice and be successful. We are bless in the city and the field.

Glad you are able to visit your daughter.

I am moving forward by declaring no matter what I trust God.

Congratulations for switching from guilt to grace in a short time--I'm proud of you!

So happy you get to see your daughter and attend this conference. Just smile, take deep breaths, and pray. It doesn't hurt to pray for the agent you'll be pitching to, either. Oh, and give them chocolate.

YAY for moving forward! Our God has great plans for you. Have a great weekend!

Congratulations! I know. It is so hard to move forward, to move around life's roadblocks, but sounds like you are busting through big time.

And best of luck with your pitching. Remember to smile. Remember to breathe. And practice, practice, practice.

Oh yeah, and have FUN!!!
